I believe that I should leave this world better than I found it, whenever it is in my power to do so and to that end, I support organizations and non-profits that do good works to lift and help others less fortunate. In this section are a few of the things I've tried to do that benefit others using my art and time to benefit our community. Among the organizations I support include: 

• The Texas Advocacy Project, which helps women and families with free legal services who've taken the courageous step to escape domestic abuse and trying to become independent and free of abuse and trauma.
• Safeplace, an organization that similarly aids women & children with safe shelter, advice and protective services in the transition from dangerous situations into safety and self-sufficiency. The longterm impact on the children and women of domestic abuse live with near lifelong PTSD and trauma but the process of escaping such dysfunctional families is fraught with danger and a very real risk of murder. The SAFE organization is a lifesaver for thousands of families in our society where it's estimated that nearly one out of every two women and one of ever four men are subjected to partner violence in their lives. Hope Alliance Texas reports that 1200 women are murdered by their domestic partners annually in the US.
  
• KUT public radio. For nearly 20 years I was a professor of Journalism in Texas colleges and universities and so for years I've been a business supporting member of the station for it's non-partisan, objective truth-telling news reporting, a bulwark against the onslaught of dis- and misinformation and pure propaganda that is so common in our society today.
