Dan's mural work is prolific and for a decade has been in high demand for his extraordinary work throughout the state and elsewhere. To Dan, the mural work serves three purposes. 1. Bread and butter revenue to capitalize the creation of exhibition works; 2. Painting practice and skill training; 3. VIsibility & exposure. Beyond that the mural work is merely a transitional stage establishing relationships with corporate & institutional executives, interior design firms who often commission such work and collectors for his fine art. This page contains examples of his work done in the last 10 years though far from all. Even while an incomplete record, to simply view all that's here involves the investment of some time. Most find the exploration entertaining, awe-inspiring, and worth every minute. It shows a diverse range of styles often drawing influences from global and varied art styles from classical, Indian, Asian, to modern graffiti forms. It's a record of a self-imposed artist training that has evolved to make possible his personal style that is today uniquely his own. It's part of the backstory that makes his mature fine art work possible and quite unique, much like the similar artistic journey of artists he admires including DaVinci, Thomas Hart Benton, and Diego Rivera.
Many wonder how it's even possible for one artist to create such a scope of work in just about a decade. Much of the work shown was created in his 60s and 70s. While a slow 'starter', with most of his fine art painting delayed by decades of teaching and raising two sons, Dan has been making up for lost time.
With mural works in every major city and many smaller towns, no fewer than several million viewers are exposed to his murals annually. He may just be the most prolific muralist the Texas history. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the gallery.
While today, Dan accepts fewer and fewer mural commissions preferring to create exhibition and investment grade original works, should you be curious about pricing and availability, CLICK THIS LINK.
