Dancer in White figurative ballerina in rehearsal from original watercolor done in 1983. This Masterworks limited edition of no more than 100 giclees on heavy duty watercolor paper is printed entirely by the artist in his studio at the same dimensions as the long lost original. As such it is as faithful to the original as can ever be created. Comes with Certificate of Authenticy by the artist. Each print hand signed and numbered by the artist.

Dancer in White figurative ballerina in rehearsal from original watercolor done in 1983. Watercolors by Dan through his lifetime can be counted on one hand.  He chose watercolor for this work to capture the fluid grace of the dance in a high key palette that feels light, as if she's floating in air. This limited edition of no more than 100 giclees on heavy duty watercolor paper is printed entirely by the artist in his studio at the same dimensions as the long lost original. As such it is as faithful to the original as can ever be created. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity by the artist.

Dan rarely works in pure watercolor so this piece is a rare example, though it is believed by the artist to have been lost or destroyed in a flood that damaged his home in San Marcos along with several other works from that time period. Excellent museum quality film art copy photography by the artist from that time however permits the creation of limited print editions on watercolor paper created from the original lost watercolor painting, even at the large format of this stunning edition. The work itself Dancer in White is a study in grace and balance in a ballet dancer in a white monochrome with only pale pinks and blues adding subtle colors. The work is designed to feel light, even weightless in pose and tonality.
